A perfect day to play hooky

There’s a delicious, come hither breeze blowing through my office window as I write this. It’s a day bursting with sunshine and blue skies filled with puffy white clouds. A perfect day to play hooky and bond with my camera. Alas, I am stuck in my office for a few more hours.

My window is wide open and the boisterous breeze buffets around me. Even though the view across the park like campus quad is of a majestic purple beech tree, it is not where I long to be on a gorgeous day like this.

I close my eyes and envision my favorite place . . . Sandy Hook. The breeze from the window speeds me to my destination. I love the feel of the wind in my face; kind of like dogs do when they’re riding in the car with their heads pointing into the wind. The only difference is my ears don’t flap about.

Down by the water's edge three seagulls and a sandpiper look for something to eat. There’s the quiet swish of tiny, bubble-edged waves across the wet sand. A few diehard fishermen dot the newly etched wild curve of the storm eroded beach.

If I could be anywhere it would be here. Sitting on a blanket watching the world go by, soaking up the sunshine, drinking in the vast ocean and listening to the soothing sound of the waves as they roll in and out.

Where, oh where, is Doctor Who when you need him?

Namaste
Chris

Chris, I hear you with the wind on your face, that's what I love, to feel it on my face too, in the hair... I actually love to listen to the wind (many people look weirdly at me when I say that :-) I don't mind though. The wind does talk if we are willing to listen. A little hectic around here as my little one has a sore throat. I did email you :-). Have a lovely day.

Oh, I am so with you! In fact, I think I will take a part of this glorious day and soak up some sea breeze. It's just that kind of lazy day today.
Beautiful images!
