Tidbit Thursday

Here are a few things I came across recently in my reading travels. They all come from the October issue of Real Simple.

From the Life Lessons column/Expertise
5 quick rituals that will improve your day, written by Stephanie Booth
1. Eat the same breakfast every day.
2. Savor your coffee.
3. Write an "ignore list." (This one I especially like!)
4. Turn off your mind for a few minutes.
5. Really listen to the answer when you ask, "How are you?"

From the guide column/money
Looking to purchase a major item and want to know if your model of choice has a history of safety issues? Then check out SaferProducts.gov, a database run by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. You can also report problems with products you've already bought and find out about recent recalls.

Last but not least, from Real Simple Thoughts, a quote from M.F.K. Fisher from An Alphabet for Gourmets:

"Gastronomical perfection can be reached in these combinations: one person dining alone, usually upon a couch or a hill side; two people, of no matter what sex or age, dining in a good restaurant; six people, of no matter what sex or age, dining in a good home."

Wishing you all a Happy Thursday.

Namaste
Chris
