On the wall above my desk is a calendar from Brush Dance.
I don't remember where I found this calendar entitled Doors
& Windows, but what intrigued me was the photo on the front with the
following quote by von Goethe: Let
everyone sweep in front of his own door, and the whole world would be clean. If only we could make this happen.
Every month has a different thought-provoking quote but the one that has spoken to me the loudest is the one for this month by Alexander Graham Bell who said:
This is a quote I've heard often and recently it finally pierced my subconscious and has made me realize I've been staring at a closed door for the last two years. Luckily, I think I see the door that is open to me, and has been for some time, and I'm finally going to go through it. I'm a little scared but it's a good scared, I think. It certainly will be fun and exciting of that I am sure.
It's time for me to move on.
Are you looking at any closed doors and missing the ones that are open to you?
RE: the photo ~ This door still exists and recently received a new coat of paint! Wouldn't you think they'd fix it before they painted? Love the cat statute in the window next door.

Sounds like movement (at least internally) is afoot! I'm glad you're feeling positive about the change and yes, sometimes it seems like we look too long at the closed door but the timing for how we process things is different for each of us. I know I'm generally a slow processor...things have to simmer and percolate for ages! I'm happy you're feeling excited about the changes ahead!
I received your card when I came home from my dad's last week...it's very beautiful! I love Hydrangea's and have a recently planted much smaller one, similar to the one in the picture. I just love those greenish/grey tones. Thanks so much for taking the time to send this to me.
The same thing happens to me. Something kind of percolates in my head for a while until it's actually brewed! Then I wonder why it took so long. Best of luck with that open door!
Hey there lovely! What an adorable post. I have always loved that saying about the closed door; I am so guilty of that. There is no feeling Iike being positive about a new door opening!! I am excited for you & wish you all the best.
I have a fixation with windows & doors, so of course I love your picture. I can't believe it was painted, yet not repaired! Lol. PS: oddly, the cat statue was the 1st thing I noticed. :-)
