Autumn's Harvest

Yesterday the day began like it was about to rain but by mid-afternoon the weather turned comfortably warm, breezy and full of sun. In short, a beautiful Autumn day. Went for a walk in a nearby field where milkweed pods were almost empty. There were a few pods left whose seeds weren't quite ready to leave the mother ship.

The last photo is of field grass. On windy days I love the way it sways and dips.

Autumn is my favorite time of year -- watching the leaves change color, cooler weather, pumpkins, apple cider, Halloween, Thanksgiving, bundling up in a warm jacket -- the list is endless. To those of you welcoming Autumn, I wish you a Happy Autumn.

Namaste
Chris

These are beautiful. The love the delicate hairs on the milkweed pods. Simple beauty in everything. Isn't it amazing how nature transforms itself? You've capture it! :-)Happy Fall to you as well!

Hi Chris, I randomly came across this quote just now & thought of your post!

"The milkweed pods are breaking, and the bits of silken down, float off upon the autumn breeze, across the meadows brown. " ~ Cecil Cavendish
